CHEST Guidelines

Rigorous, authoritative, and evidence-based—that’s how clinicians around the world describe our guidelines. We develop trustworthy recommendations on the diagnosis and treatment of chest disease states that help clinicians provide exceptional patient care.

Through a highly regarded systematic review process, our panels of expert stakeholders evaluate relevant evidence and produce multidisciplinary guidelines that help clinicians respond to today’s challenges and improve patient health outcomes.

Review our submission and development process

Every year, we accept proposals for new, high-quality guidelines during our call for topic submissions. The members of our guideline panels utilize a rigorous, evidence-based approach to identifying and synthesizing relevant literature, which is used to produce trustworthy clinical recommendations. We’re proud that our guidelines meet the highest standards in guideline development established by the National Academy of Medicine.
