Course Description

In this interactive CME-certified symposium, top CHEST experts will focus on AAV, the symptoms, etiology, diagnostic process, and currently approved treatments. The faculty will also discuss specific patient cases.

Course Objectives

Recognize the burden of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) on patient quality of life (QoL).
Identify the role of the complement alternative pathway in the pathogenesis and treatment of GPA/MPA.
Use appropriate tools and guidelines to identify patients with GPA/MPA in a timely and accurate manner.
Outline the magnitude and significance of glucocorticoid (GC) toxicity in GPA/MPA management.
Summarize the latest clinical evidence for current and emerging treatments for patients with GPA/MPA.
Apply updated treatment guidelines to assist clinical decision making for patients with GPA/MPA.
Examine interprofessional strategies to improve care and outcomes of patients with GPA/MPA.
