Coding, Billing, and Reimbursement
As a chest medicine specialist, it’s important that you stay current on the latest developments in clinical practice and operations. With this, CHEST and the American Thoracic Society (ATS) have partnered to form a Joint Clinical Practice Committee. The mission of this group is to monitor, review, comment on, and educate the membership of both societies on coding, billing, and regulatory compliance issues that impact pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. This group actively participates in the American Medical Association (AMA) RUC and CPT processes and monitors, reviews, and comments on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) coverage and payment policy, as well as advocates with CMS staff for pulmonary, critical care, and sleep services.
